Description
Nestled in a true wildlife sanctuary, this contemporary 3 bedroom rental home offers quiet seclusion within one of the most accessible and beautiful gated communities in the area. This gem is situated just minutes away from downtown Quepos, the new world-class Marina Pez Vela, and 10 minute drive to the white sand beaches of the Manuel Antonio National Park. The quality of the building materials and the detailed workmanship of Kiskadee Casa is exquisite. Imported Italian tiles, wooden French doors with ornate stained glass panels leading to the master bedroom, a spacious, elegant master bathroom, and the local hardwood finishes are just a few of the incredible features. The three comfortable bedrooms can easily accommodate 4 - 6 residents. Each bedroom is equipped with its own quiet AC unit with remote control, which you don't find often in Costa Rica. Enjoy free high speed wifi, cable TV, and a private pool. Why rent two or three hotel rooms, when you can rent an entire, family-friendly house for the price of one hotel room? With a full kitchen, feel free to take advantage of the local markets, including the farmers market on Saturdays, to prepare your own meals with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables and freshly caught fish. Or, just outside the estates you will find an abundant variety of restaurants from casual, ethnic, and al fresco, to 4 & 5-star gourmet dining with beautiful ocean views.
Kiskadee Casa is ideal for families who love the surroundings of the lush rain forest and can't get enough of the pure sounds of the jungle. Step outside and be entertained by visitors such as bright, colorful toucans and macaws, playful monkeys and adorable sloths. Fruit trees and flowers are abundant on the property.
With various modes of transportation easily accessible, you can enjoy a multitude of exciting activities in the area including zip-lining, whale and dolphin watching, boating, para-sailing, bird watching, eco-tourism, tennis, golf, and huge, wild crocodiles at Carrara National Park, just to name a few. Not only are there tours of the park but many other local tours for which pick up can be arranged. Recommended examples are Damas Island, a canopy tour in Rainmaker Park where you can swim and stand under a waterfall, Horseback tour to waterfall, Nighttime Jungle tour. You may want to book a charter boat for deep sea fishing.
Day trips can, also, be arranged from Kiskadee Casa for snorkeling at Caño Island, whale and dolphin watching, Corcovado National Park, and other exciting tours leaving from Marino Bellena National Park.
Shuttle or bus service is available to and from San Jose airport. One could rent a car at the airport and drive approximately 3.5 hours to Quepos/Manuel Antonio on good roads or fly Sansa from San Jose to Quepos and arrange for car rental after arrival at one of the local agencies. Flights take about 25 minutes. Or choose to use local shuttle or taxi service once you arrive.
Here is a quote from Forbes Magazine about Manuel Antonio Park: "Here is a stunning combination of beaches and coral reefs, perfect for snorkeling and exploring the area's famous tangle of mangroves. Rainforest jungles remain untouched habitats for Brown-throated Three-toed Sloths, iguanas, Central American squirrel monkeys and birds of extraordinary colors. One of Costa Rica's smallest national parks, Manuel Antonio is nevertheless one of its most popular, with activities ranging from white-water rafting and sea kayaking to horseback riding on one of the park's four beaches."
From Broadwayworld.com: "Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, has had its debut, and is now becoming one of the top 'boutique' travel destinations in the world." Forbes called Manuel Antonio National Park one of the '12 Most Beautiful National Parks of the World'.
Costa Rica is fast becoming one of the top vacation spots for families. Manuel Antonio has much to offer including beautiful white sand beaches, calm waters, kid-friendly tours, National Park, and abundant, exotic wildlife. Kiskadee Casa is a budget-savvy, tropical rain forest oasis just minutes from all that Manuel Antonio has to offer. Enjoy your stay. Pura vida.

Awesome location, excellent and beautiful house! Absolutely loved it and recommend it!
Pictures don't reflect how gorgeous and comfortable this house is! The place is big and very well maintained. Both Marcela and Dorit we're very nice and provided excellent service. The house is well equipped with all things needed for a great stay. You have to be able to drive as the weather is hot and the beach is a few minutes away.
Manuel Antonio National Park is absolutely worthy...a real amazing place, with wild animals, an a unmatched gorgeous & clean beach.
The neighbourhood where the house is located is very safe and well managed. I highly recommend this place, specially if you want to spend quality time with your friends or family.
Amazing value, great for groups.
Just got back from a week with friends at Kiskadee Casa. The house is ideal for a group, with a big open main floor that opens up to a large deck. The staff at Manuel Antonio estates were very helpful, and gave some great restaurant recommendations. Having the maid service was great, and it was nice that we could specify how frequently we wanted them to come. We also enjoyed some lizards and frogs lounging around outside, but never any critters inside the house. 100% recommend!
Peaceful, gorgeous views of hills.
We loved this house for our family of four (two boys ages 7 and 9). Highlight was having breakfast on the balcony with sweeping views. Manuel Antonio estates has a bunch of homes, some in close proximity, but this house sits at end of a road against the jungle. It felt private and peaceful. Overall that's the vibe: tranquil getaway. (One night someone in a house far below cranked loud music at 10pm and the management made them turn it off within a few minutes.) A huge plus is the concierge desk; when a tour fell through, one that I had booked on my own, they made a flurry of calls to help me out. Clean and comfortable, with gorgeous setting. In order to hang out and talk when the kids went to sleep, my wife and I just escaped to the balcony and drank wine to the sounds of the jungle. You have to be comfortable driving up a very steep (paved) road, maybe a potential downside but not a problem for us. Eight minutes to beaches. Go to Rainmaker Park!

Great place!
AC worked great. Howler monkey greeted us the first night, iguanas everywhere, frogs and more wildlife than I imagined this close to town. Gated and personnel are helpful. Lovely house!

Nuestras hermosas aves vistas:
Great Kiskadee (Pitangus sulphuratus)
Yellow Throuted Toucan (Ramphastus ambiguus)
Fiery-billed Aracari (Pteroglossus frantzii)
Blue - crowned Motmot (Momotus coeruliceps)
Blue-gary Tabager (Thraupis episcopus)
Golden-hooded Tanager (Tangara larvata)
Stay at Casa Kiskadee - March 2
We had a great experience! Dorit and Elias were exceptionally helpful and provided excellent customer service.
We thoroughly enjoyed the home and the excursions (Mangrove tour, Manauel Antonio Park tour, Rainmaker tour, Villa Vanilla plantation tour) that were available in the area - beautiful country!
wonderful and amazing
We had a really restful and .at the same time, enchanting stay at Manuel Antonio estates. Monkeys came calling in the morning while having breakfast on the balcony. We fell in love with the area and with Costa Rica. The house was clean and comfortable, the estate managers were all very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend it anyone .
Sincerely, Stephen Kelly
Love love loved it!!
The house was so clean we had not 1 bug, not 1 ant not 1 spider inside for our entire stay. That is nearly unheard of. The house was cleaned daily with beds made, dishes washed, towels washed and replaced. We did not know this was included. What a bonus! We loved the open kitchen and dining area as well as the upstairs connecting bathroom. It was gorgeous. Also well stocked with toilet paper which is nice.
The larger bedroom upstairs had a very nice mattress that was quite comfortable. The smaller upstairs bedroom the mattress was not as nice and was hard and more like a futon mattress. We were unaware the downstairs bed and bathroom were not accessible from the upstairs. In order to reach these rooms as well as the utility you had to go outside and down the stairs. These 3 rooms are on the patio downstairs which I personally would not have been comfortable being outside of the rest of the house on the ground floor. We were 2 couples and did not use this area except to do laundry. Every morning we had about a dozen white face monkeys swinging through the trees and climbing on our balcony. There were 3 Scarlet Macaws that roosted in the same tree every night and the Howler Monkey was my favorite. He howled every morning around 4 and also in the afternoon. We were very happy with the wildlife we saw on the property. The only drawback is that it is an uphill hike to the house and we used a taxi 85% of the time. Not for the out of shape or elderly at all. Also to the beaches in Manuel Antonio a bus or cab is needed and also for restaurants. Quepos is walkable but not as nice as Manuel Antonio. Also, no pool for this rental so we visited a hotel that offered their pool services with access to their bar and food. Total bonus. Our favorite dinner was at Ronnie's place for the food, sangria and sunset and Barba Roja. Both had great food, reasonable prices and amazing views! So in summary, amazing clean home in the jungle with loads of wildlife and foliage but it is a steep hike and no pool. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very safe and loved the front desk team as they were beyond helpful. Honestly, they were amazing!! We ran out of propane 1 night and seriously they had it filled/replaced within 10 minutes. That was crazy fast! This rental is the furthest from the concierge too! (We wanted a house that had more privacy.) They also handled our flights back to San Jose and a private driver when we arrived. They had the best rates for that too. A++++
It is clean, bug free, safe, well stocked, lots of wildlife, but wow what a hike up! A great home to
The house was so clean we had not 1 bug, not 1 ant not 1 spider inside for our entire stay. That is nearly unheard of. The house was cleaned daily with beds made, dishes washed, towels washed and replaced. We did not know this was included. What a bonus! We always had plenty of clean towels, loads of dishes, coffee cups pots/pans silverware etc. A stock pile of spices and ice in the freezer too. The kitchen had everything we needed.
These 3 rooms are on the patio downstairs which I personally would not have been comfortable being outside of the rest of the house on the ground floor. We were 2 couples and did not use this area except to do laundry. Our last evening we encountered two huge spiders, and I mean big ole huge hairy backs, palm sized spiders on the downstairs patio and also an extremely large Scorpion. 1st bugs of the entire trip (except for a few ants on the balcony) and they were freaking massive and scary. Of course we were in the jungle and that is to be expected but we had gotten spoiled by the lack of Hulk sized monsters for 6 days. Every morning we had about a dozen white face monkeys swinging through the trees and coming up to the balcony. 3 Scarlet Macaws roosted on the tree at the end of the driveway. The Howler Monkey was amazing. We had so many blue butterflies, blue birds, humming birds and even a sloth in a tree. Very cool! Now...the property is elevated at nearly 300 ft. high from the road. My sister and I nearly died walking to the house in the heat and humidity and could only walk it in the morning. We used a cab which gets expensive. It is not an easy walk at all. No pool, not close to the ocean but very safe, well stocked, very clean, lots of wildlife and I give it a 5 star. The front desk rocked and were amazing and so helpful 24/7. They arranged our tours, flights back to San Jose, private car to bring us from San Jose etc. They were awesome! We had a very wonderful trip.
Nice modern, comfortable house
The Blue Water Properties staff were friendly, pleasant and helpful. The house is very clean, modern and well decorated. It is comfortable and the AC works well. Nice kitchen - we cooked quite a bit during our stay. Town is an easy walk away (although dirt road is dusty). We rented bikes during our stay and had fun riding around. Thanks you for the enjoyable stay.
Beautiful peaceful house in a natural setting
Overall a nice place with a beautiful view from the living room. The staff at Manuel Antonio Estates were very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Nice kitchen. We cooked at the house quite a bit. 2 upstairs bedrooms comfortable and pleasant. AC worked well. We didn't see much wildlife from the house. The downstairs bedroom has a separate entrance from the rest of the house and was musty smelling. Driveway is very steep as others have commented.
Excellent property and staff!
Excellent property! We stayed here for 5 days and loved the location and staff. We will be staying here again next year!
Great Location, Loved it!!
Beautiful, clean house surrounded by forest. Watched monkeys from the porch a couple of times. Front desk very helpful and friendly. Close to Manuel Antonio Park and beaches.
*Note 3 bedroom is downstairs by itself.
Rainforest home 4 night stay - Feb 2015 review
Nicely located property in the rain forest with a large bamboo grove and lots of monkeys around. The estate has a manned gate with an onsite spa. The kitchen and living room facilities as well as wifi were great. Note the driveway to the house is very steep - recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.
Amazing Vacation!
Located in a gated private community the area was quiet and peaceful. The property was clean and well maintained. The wildlife was abundant with birds of MANY species, beautiful morph butterflies, Squirrel Monkeys, White-face Capuchin Monkeys, Sloths , Iguanas, and pretty frogs! It truly was a delightful place to stay. We took advantage of the Sport Fishing in Quepos. We hired local guides to take us birding and night time hiking for herps. We did not have time to make use of the spa (even though we were there for 15 days!) but will do so on our return visit. The staff at Manuel Antonio Estates were exceptionally friendly, informative, competent and accommodating. We felt welcome and at home from the moment we arrived.
Lovely Property in the hills
The house was perfect for our family of 6. My husband and I appreci the privacy of the separate bedroom downstairs as well. The setting is beautiful and we even got nightly visits from a troop of squirrel monkeys. It was in easy walking distance of Quepos but the hilly terrain would make it a challenge for anyone who was not fit.
Clean, Neat, Well Furnished, Comfortable Beds
I spent almost 2 weeks in beautiful Costa Rica, with Kiskadee Casa in Manuel Antonio Estates as my home base. The beauty of all of Costa Rica was amazing, but time spent at Kiskadee was the highlight of my visit. The house was clean, well cared for and very comfortable and had a feeling of home. Sitting on the patio watching both Squirrel and Capucian monkeys frolicking in the trees and even along the railings right beside us was a nightly treat. It was like they were putting on a show for our benefit – climbing onto the roof, then playfully peeking down at us like they were playing hide and seek. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well furnished with everything necessary for making meals and even the amazing mango smoothies that we so enjoyed. Very good restaurants and even Friday evening and Saturday farmer’s markets where we could get all the fruits and vegetables we needed were in easy reach from the house. I highly recommend Kiskadee Casa as your home away from home when you travel to Costa Rica.
Beautiful Property close to Quepos, but Very Hilly
The property was clean, well-maintained and comfortable. We got to see the local troop of squirrel monkeys most evenings--adorable. Iguanas sunned themselves on the driveway too. We loved how easy it was to walk into Quepos, but the area was very steep and hilly-- not for the less than fit crowd. Be sure to check out the spa near the entrance as well.
Beautiful house in the jungle.
The house was very clean and it was located behind a gate in the jungle. There were all sorts of birds and monkeys around the house. The management was very helpful and responsive to any issues. We were close to Quepos and Manuel Antonio and it was very easy to get around. We rented a car to get around. There were a lot of great restaurants near by too. I would recommend this vacation home to anyone.
